Addictive Roasted Chickpeas

Seriously from your pantry comes a late-night snack, a salad topper, a crunchy bite to a stir fry.  Just crisp up and let your imagination experiment with the flavors (variations below)

Pantry Ingredients:
  • 1 can of 8 Track Foods Organic Blonde Chickpeas (drain and pat dry with a dish cloth)
  • 1 Tbs of Olive Oil 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400F and line baking sheet with parchment paper
  2. Spread chickpeas drizzle on olive oil.  Mix a bit to coat them.
  3. Bake for 15 minutes.  Toss.  Cook for additional 15 minutes until crisp.  
  4. Coat with seasonings.

Variations:

Classic Cracked Black Pepper and Sea Salt:  1-2 tsp of sea salt and 1/2 cracked black pepper (adjust to taste)

Pumpkin Spice Maple 1-2 Tbs. maple syrup and 2 tsp pumpkin spice seasoning (add the maple syrup during the last 10 minutes of baking)

Rosemary and Roasted Garlic (if you have fresh add, about 1-2 sprigs or 1/4 tsp dry and 2-3 cloves of minced garlic)

Cayenne and Brown Sugar:  1/2 tsp cayenne and 1 Tbs brown sugar (add brown sugar in last 10 min of baking)

 

Food Science Tip:

Add the seasonings after roasting so you keep the flavors vibrant!
